This is my personal list of “must-have’s” when starting your own Virtual Assistant business. *please note, that I am not as experienced as a lot of VA’s but I’m learning everyday! So there is hope for me yet:0)
1. Forums: find as many VA forums as you can and read! Read as many posts you can everyday. I go here: http://www.vanetworking.com
2. Notebooks: Yes, paper notebooks and a lot of ink pens! Take notes as your read posts on forums.
3. Networking: Find as many networking groups as you can…they even offer free online seminars! This is a nugget of gold to every VA out there! Here is one I go to http://www.networkingforher.com
4. Mentoring: find a “graduated” mentor, I suggest one mentor that is a VA and one that is a business coach! These are a must have. *if I tell you my mentors then it won’t be a secret anymore*
5. Groups: there are free groups, like yahoo, but I’m talking about a “mastermind group”..sometimes you have to pay a per month fee but I hear it’s worth every penny (maybe I can get a membership for my birthday this year? Any takers? LOL)
6. Online tele-seminars and conferences: You can find a ton of these, they are free and full of very important business information. Look for these even they don’t say “Virtual Assistant” because you are still an entrepreneur and can learn a great deal from other small business owners.
7. Faith, Friends & Family: I need all 3 of these to get through some tough days.
